Quality Systems Manager

Our products consist of New England Coffee, Luzianne Iced Tea, Blue Plate Mayonnaise, Swans Down Cake Flour, and Carroll Shelby Chili (to name a few) and can be found in retail locations around the country.

The Quality Systems Manager is responsible to ensure capable Quality systems exist across the supply chain ensuring full compliance with internal and external requirements. These requirements include the current BRC code, the Reily Quality Expectation Manual, internal specifications and standards, and customer Quality system requirements. The position will implement, monitor, and improve the effectiveness of quality systems to meet these requirements while defining quality standards and work in conjunction with the auditing of the systems to coordinate corrective actions on non-conformities to systems requirement

  • Maintain, modify, or develop procedures and practices to ensure that the Internal Audit Management System for Reily Foods is effective in identifying and correcting any non-conformances to the QEM manual.

  • Ensure that all necessary quality systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and external audits such as GFSI BRC, Regulatory (FDA, State audits) and claims (RFA, Organic, Fair Trade)

  • Attend all site level external audits and provide corporate documents as requested for the audit in support of plant quality.

  • Review and evaluate all relevant programs, procedures described in the Quality Expectation Manual (QEM) and coordinate and cross train operations and quality personnel for any changes or updates.

  • Manage the Specifications module in Trace Gains and work with NPD, Quality and CI Managers on the set up of new templates, specification builds, or the modification of existing specification through change management. Report out monthly summaries as needed on spec completion status.

  • Manage the Supplier module in Trace Gains working with Purchasing Regulatory on new Suppliers and item documentation as required in the QEM.

  • Create a Supplier Scorecard report monthly to evaluate completion percentages of documentation requirements and any issue with quality of items received.

  • Work with floor quality and operations on development of quality related systems – visuals and quality checks to ensure capturing of quality data.

  • Train all operational and quality personnel in all aspects of the quality systems and application of new or modified procedures.

  • Attend various meetings and follow up on actions and communicate instructions for audit concerns.

  • Produce written reports and make presentations as required.

  • Undertake continuous training and development of Reily personnel on quality related systems.

  • Communicate any continuous improvement opportunities within operations or quality systems and work with CI Managers and plant quality to develop.

  • Develop, implement, and manage scorecards for each audit system developed.

  • Work with quality Director in establishing annual goals and work plans for the QSM role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years progressive experience/leadership in Food safety and quality

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in manufacturing/engineering or similar professional degree and experience

  • Experience in a high-volume regulated manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing

  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience
